Inspired by Steve who was inspired by Herman, minimalist blogs on RSS may become the promiseland [1] of decentralized social media.
I am interested in self-sovereignty: ownership, uncensorability, respect for human dignity, gatekeeper-less opportunity, cross-platform composability i.e. anti-vendor-lockin, and sustainable software: usually tiny, mostly FOSS, targeted to last beyond my lifetime.
For ownership, I have my own website with its own beautifully rendered RSS feed, where I share occasional longer-form writing (7-15 min reads).
I used to be Big in Japan as a short-form content and multimedia creator with 50k+ followers, but I never owned my content as much as I thought was promised to everyone. Am down to try shouting into the void over RSS where the reader decides what they see, not the algo. I used to be (still am!) The Farchiver, taking on the Sima Qian role for decentralized social media. But since I am here by the grace and allowance of this platform, this feed will be more ephemeral, like the best Tweets.
Recently, I've been kicking the tires on some new technologies.
And finally, my brothers and sisters have you heard the Good News?
